Happy Good Friday, Happy Passover, Happy The Memorial and Happy Full Moon

Happy Good Friday, Happy Passover, Happy The Memorial and Happy Full Moon. This covers Christians, Jews, Jehovah Witnesses and Pagans. I like to make every day a holiday and fortunately today I didn’t have to make one up.

We can celebrate the life of a man who taught love as the major determining fact to living. We can celebrate the grace we live under that keeps us safe from harm. We can celebrate the death of Christ – it’s the only holiday for JW’s. We can celebrate the cycles of the moon and the rhythms of nature.

Whatever category you fall under, or don’t fall under, I suggest you be true to your own life’s tradition. How do you want to celebrate? What has meaning to you? Maybe some have put meaning into these events that have no value for you. To take on the meaning others give holidays as your personal meaning isn’t authentic. Find your belief, find out who you are and go with that. It may be you go with what others told you, but until you’ve had the direct experience of these things – they are just borrowed concepts.  It’s even okay to give these holidays up. Second hand religion has little value and for me first hand religion misses the mark as well. Most religions tend to separate rather than divide, but of course religion can’t do that – only people can do that. The purpose of religion is to bind us together with our source, but too often religion is used as anther ideological position and the justification for hate and angry righteousness.  We are bigger than that. The love that binds us together is larger than the fear that keeps us apart. I think that’s a great thing to see today. Here’s a thought for today. “The love that binds us together is more than sufficient to activate compassion, community and generosity with me and those I encounter. AMEN”

Happy You Are Perfect Day

Happy “I AM Perfect Day.”  Many of you know my story but if you don’t know – Feb 14 is our wedding anniversary and Valentine’s Day. My husband and I were so excited about our holiday that I thought it might be fun to make everyday a holiday. So today is “I Am Perfect Day.”

This is not to say you are a perfectionist. Perfectionism is difficult to pull off and causes a lot on psychological suffering. “I Am Perfect Day” celebrates that who we are is perfect. Our behavior may not be perfect but our being is perfect. Self-help methods tend to take the stance that we are broken and that until we are fixed, we are not okay. Enlightenment is the realization that we are okay the way we are and even our mistakes rest in a larger realm of perfection that we are unable to see with our limited awareness.

One of the biggest obstacles to recognizing our perfection is guilt. Guilt is the mafia of the mind and it is a learned behavior. Guilt came from our master teachers, aka as parents, and it’s been running in our emotional bodies for ions. It’s time to say goodbye to guilt. It’s time to break the chains that bind us to multigenerational  guilt patterns. The guilt of just existing filters into our thinking, creates defensive living and wreaks havoc  in our relationships.

Here’s your mantra for today. “I have the right exist. I am innocent and perfect just as I AM.”

Happy Imagination Day

Happy Imagination Day. Imagination is the seed thought of creation. I can remember when I was a teenager. I would fall asleep imagining being married. I would see a wedding ring on my finger. I would feel it on my skin. I would see myself getting on an airplane. In these days our society was not as mobile as it is today. Going on a trip was a big deal. Subsequently did marry and I enjoyed travelling around the world.

AS I grew older, I began to imagine in different ways. I would imagine being happy, having good relationships and being free from my ego. Wherever our attention goes, our life flows. What seeds do you want to plant with your imagination?

If we wake up in the morning and imagine a hard day, we will find that to be our truth. Our mind interprets life to be as we believe it to be. Life as we see it is a compilation of our imagination. If this is true, and I believe it is, then maybe we might want  to nurture a boundless enthusiastic imagination. DO that today. Imagine your life to be full of what you want. Imagine yourself as fulfilled, happy,  and supported by life.  Imagine your work as being easy and yourself as being efficient and effective.
My friend Don Wells made a video of my imagining going to Hawaii. He took the voice segment form a CD made in 2003. Check it out, can you feel the power of imagination? Happy Imagination Day. And don’t forget to eat well, think responsibly and make life easier every day.
